Radio ARA is the independent, non-commercial Radio Station of Luxembourg.

Active since 1992, Radio ARA is the oldest Community Radio in the country

and has always been identified as an alternative in the Luxembourgish media landscape.

The program of Radio ARA is as colourful and diverse

as the opinions, culture and music of the people living in the Grand Duchy.

About the Show


AFRIKULTURE mix is a fortnightly show that celebrates African cultures in Luxembourg.

The show host, Hembadoon, is African from Nigeria and aims to bring content that resonate with Africans living in Luxembourg and neighbouring Europe.

It airs every other Sunday at 13:00 – 14:00.

AFRIKULTURE mix features chat in English and pidgin English language, spoken by anglophone Africans who are the core audience.

The theme of the show is musical, while also touching on social issues and current affairs.

The show also features African music from the entire continent, highlighting mainstream, retro artistes and independent artistes’ features, with a keen interest in spotlighting new artists of African origin, out here and worldwide.

The audience includes terrestrial radio listeners as well as online listeners that cut across different locations.

AFRIKULTURE mix is interactive and involves street trivia where the host approaches random people of African origin to share their views on relevant topics including life in Luxembourg and positive experiences about living in Europe.

It also features guest interviews that touch on entertainment and social issues that affect Africans living in Luxembourg and out in the rest of the world.
