Hembadoon, formally known as Hembadoon Ande Peter-Thomas, is a singer-songwriter who started her career in 2002, writing for and singing as parts of groups in Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria. Her music featured on the BBC Radio Show “Wetin Dey”, and she performed at Benson & Hedges road shows in 2003 & 2004.
After working in a Radio Station at the capital city of Abuja for about 2 years, she moved to Lagos and went on to diversify in Corporate communications & Public Relations, working in Corporate and Entertainment circles for some of Nigeria’s biggest Corporate brands as well as in PR teams of the biggest International Entertainment brands out of Nigeria including Simi, Olamide, Burna Boy, Asa and Ice Prince.
In 2020, she relaunched her career with the release of Afro jazz single “Lady”, while also building on it as a brand. In the 2 years since her relaunch, she has played on stages in different parts of Nigeria and at Festivals in The Netherlands, Accra Ghana, Yaounde Cameroon and Montreal Canada. Hembadoon now lives in Luxembourg City and is currently focused on growing the LADY brand globally, while working on the release of her debut studio album.
