The Kools

The Kools are a Luxembourgish-based rock duo whose heavy, darkly atmospheric sound unearths brooding riffs and haunting outros, enveloping listeners in a world of shadowy intensity. Emerging onto the scene with their 2021 debut, Dead Serious, the band immediately made waves with its murky, unpolished energy. Their sophomore album, The Process, launched at the end of 2024, delves deeper into this eerie, brooding energy thanks to its distorted guitars and smoky melodies.
Frontwoman Maria (vocals/guitar) and drummer Diego are far from one-note musicians. Maria also lends her voice to the Jazz Big Band of the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, very active in the Luxembourgish jazz scene and recently directed by Jean Gobinet, known for the music of “The Artist” movie (Oscar for the best original score). Diego is a finalist in Luxembourg’s Song Contest as the drummer of Rhythmic Soulwave.
From opening for the Australian band Clamm in Luxembourg to performing in the main underground venues in Madrid and rocking festivals in Mallorca, The Kools are steadily carving out a place for their unique shadowy rock, captivating crowds with their second album’s live debut at Rockhal in January 2025 and delivering music that sticks with you long after it fades.
