Only a ceasefire deal in Gaza will delay an Iranian retaliation strike for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Iranian officials have said. Officials have also said that Iran, along with ally Hezbollah, will launch a direct attack if the Gaza ceasefire talks, which should resume tomorrow, fail or if they consider Israel to drag out negotiations. Reportedly, on US initiative, three regional government sources have asked Iran to avoid escalation in an attempt to calm the tensions in the region. Les exclus du festin (those excluded from the feast) is a series of photographs displayed in a book and in an exhibition about those experiencing poverty. Author Claude Frisoni and photographer Raymond Reuter "bear witness so that those who suffer in silence are recognized as victims, not culprits". The €61 million euro fraud at Caritas may not have been due to “presidential fraud” as was suggested last week. Radio 100,7 and Tageblatt investigations have cast doubt on this explanation. Caritas’ finance director, who is under investigation, reportedly played an active role in around 120 transfers to fraudsters’ accounts since February 2024. The finance director allegedly communicated with the fraudsters for months and is said to have covered up the transfers with lies to third parties. She even claimed delays in government funds.
