Hark, what most wondrous news is this? The Shakespeare Schools Festival is on again this February 5th and 6th, and has grown and now includes school theatre groups from Cyprus, Belgium, France and the UK as well as St. George’s and Michel Lucius from Luxembourg and the New World Theatre Club’s youth group. Drama teacher Clare Williams spearheaded this initiative five years ago, and continues to get her kids at St. George’s enthused about the Bard and about performing on stage. The festival presents short versions of Shakespeare’s plays, adapted and revised and often given a modern, fun twist like

Ukraine claims it controls 1000 square kilometres of Russia’s southern Kursk region, including 28 towns and villages. Ukrainian forces have advanced more than 20 kilometres into Russia since its surprise offensive seven days ago. Luxembourg’s economy is likely to grow slower than initially expected, says the national statistics agency, STATEC. In January, the institute had predicted an economic growth of 2% but this number is said to be ‘threatened’, with STATEC adjusting the growth forecast for this year to 1.5%.
