Unequal Tongues: Local Struggles for Linguistic Justice

Looking Back—and Ahead: Challenging Language Inequality with ReDes_Ling After a dynamic month of collaboration in Luxembourg, Radio ARA and our partners from Argentina wrap up the first local chapter of the ReDes_Ling project. Together, we explored how media and technology can challenge language inequality and open space for diverse voices.   A highlight of the month was the public round table Unequal Tongues: Local Struggles for Linguistic Justice, which brought together researchers, activists, and community members. Hosted at Cultures of Assembly in Esch, the event created a lively dialogue on language rights, inclusion, and the role of multilingual media in reshaping

ALIA Visits Radio ARA

ALIA Visits Radio ARA We were pleased to welcome ALIA to Radio ARA for an inspiring exchange. Beyond our multilingual shows and diverse content, we focused on something close to our heart: media education. Community radio is more than broadcasting—it’s a learning space. Young people, newcomers, and volunteers gain real skills and a voice through hands-on experience. As DAB+ approaches, it’s vital this educational role doesn’t get sidelined. ALIA’s openness to understanding this part of our work means a lot. Supporting media literacy through community media helps build a more informed, inclusive society.

ARA welcomed Media Minister Elisabeth Margue

ARA welcomed Media Minister Elisabeth Margue We were glad to welcome the team from the Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC) to Radio ARA. The visit sparked honest exchanges about our work, values, and the unique role community media plays in Luxembourg. We also raised the challenges and opportunities DAB+ brings. Going digital opens doors—but only if community media isn’t left behind. We need support to stay part of this future. Thanks to Elisabeth Margue and the SMC for taking the time to listen. Media diversity must include all voices—especially the local and independent ones.
