We were pleased to welcome ALIA to Radio ARA for an inspiring exchange. Beyond our multilingual shows and diverse content, we focused on something close to our heart: media education. Community radio is more than broadcasting—it’s a learning space. Young people, newcomers, and volunteers gain real skills and a voice through hands-on experience. As DAB+ approaches, it’s vital this educational role doesn’t get sidelined. ALIA’s openness to understanding this part of our work means a lot. Supporting media literacy through community media helps build a more informed, inclusive society.
