Two research notes presented to theChamber of Deputies’ Foreign Affairs Committee assert that Luxembourg has international responsibilities regarding Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. LSAP MP Franz Fayot, who requested the analyses, emphasized that the findings support a more decisive stance by Luxembourg, suggesting the country should take action, such as banning imports that facilitate the occupation. Green MP Sam Tanson echoed the call for better implementation of existing legal frameworks to address the issue. Conversely, CSV parliamentary group president Laurent Zeimet acknowledged the reports but cautioned that Luxembourg’s focus shouldn’t solely be on Israel, raising questions about how to address other nations accused of similar violations. The analyses will be further discussed with Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel.
The Ministry of Education has unveiled a new action plan aimed at enhancing inclusion in primary schools, which includes the establishment of crisis teams to respond to serious incidents and increased support for pupils with special needs. The initiative responds to the growing challenges educators face, such as complex behavioral issues among students. From 2017 to 2025, the number of staff for special needs education has risen significantly, but the ministry recognizes a need for faster interventions and better coordination among stakeholders. The plan also emphasizes prevention, improved collaboration between schools and families, and administrative reforms, including a new online portal to streamline processes.
