About the Show

At Radio ARA, we know how language shapes who gets heard—and who doesn’t. That’s why we’re proud to be part of ReDes_Ling, a global research project, funded by the European Union, tackling language inequality. Together with universities and community organisations from Spain, Denmark, Colombia, Argentina and Mexico, we’re exploring how language barriers affect access to rights, services, and participation in society, and how certain languages are perceived as more valuable than others.

In June 2025, ReDes_Ling project brought together activists, researchers, and media makers from Argentina and Luxembourg to explore how communication technologies can be tools to reduce language inequality. Through workshops, broadcasts, and a public roundtable, participants explored how dominant language regimes limit access to education and rights—especially for Indigenous communities in Argentina and non-native speakers in Luxembourg. The focus was on communication tools like radio, newsletters, and translation tech as strategies for resistance. Hosted by Radio ARA, the Luxembourg phase deepened cross-border exchange and highlighted local efforts to strengthen media pluralism and representation. The project continues across partner countries through 2028.
