Only a ceasefire deal in Gaza will delay an Iranian retaliation strike for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Iranian officials have said. Officials have also said that Iran, along with ally Hezbollah, will launch a direct attack if the Gaza ceasefire talks, which should resume tomorrow, fail or if they consider Israel to drag out negotiations. Reportedly, on US initiative, three regional government sources have asked Iran to avoid escalation in an attempt to calm the tensions in the region. Ukraine claims it controls 1000 square kilometres of Russia’s southern Kursk region, including 28 towns and villages. Ukrainian forces have advanced more than 20 kilometres into Russia since its surprise offensive seven days ago. More than 120.000 people have left their homes and another 60.000 have been told to leave. According to Ukrainian president Zelenskiy, top-level officials have ordered the preparation of a humanitarian plan for the area. Russia’s president Putin said that Ukraine will get a worthy response for its incursion into Russian territory and has vowed that Russian forces will kick the enemy out.    Around 2.3 billion

A petition asking for flexible work hours for women with endometriosis has passed the necessary threshold to be debated in parliament. The petition requests the government to recognise endometriosis as a chronic disease and to take it seriously. Endometriosis is an incurable disease that one in ten women worldwide suffer from and can cause severe pain. However, it is not recognised as a disabling disease. A petition in 2021 asked two days of leave per month for women suffering from period pain. The two days never made it into a law, but the government said it would implement awareness around
