Iran and the U.S. have agreed to a two-week ceasefire. Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had warned of devastating attacks if Tehran did not comply. Pakistan’s prime minister invites Iranian and US delegations to meet in Islamabad on Friday to discuss Iran’s ten-point plan which includes the lifting of sanctions on Iran, U.S. military withdrawal and Iran maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran says it will halt counterattacks and allow safe passage through the strait. Both Washington and Tehran are presenting the deal as a victory. 

 

More than 180 people are dead or missing after recent migrant boat disasters in the Mediterranean end of March according to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). Nearly 1000 people have died since the beginning of this year. The latest incident on Sunday, left 80 migrants missing as their boat capsized in the Central Mediterranean. According to the IOM, the Central Mediterranean remains the world’s deadliest migration corridor.

 

Britain has blocked Kanye West from entering the country for the Wireless Festival in London. Officials withdrew his permission to travel and perform in Britain following antisemitic, racist and pro-Nazi statements. Kanye West was the headliner of the festival. The Organiser canceled the three-day event and says ticket holders will get refunds.
