About this Episode
Protesters marched through Luxembourg City on International Women’s Day to demand action against inequalities in healthcare. Organised by the Journée Internationale des Femmes Luxembourg, the demonstration moved from Place de Paris to Place Guillaume II. Participants highlighted how factors such as income, housing, discrimination and violence shape health outcomes, arguing that women and marginalised groups face greater barriers to care. Organisers called for universal access to healthcare, stronger focus on reproductive health and greater recognition of social inequalities as a public health issue.
Société nationale des habitations à bon marché has unveiled plans for two new neighbourhoods in Roeser and Steinfort that will deliver around 1,350 homes, more than half of them classified as affordable housing. The projects aim to create largely car-free districts focused on cycling, walking and shared mobility. Around 850 homes are planned in Roeser and 500 in Steinfort, with community facilities, shops and green spaces included. According to the developer, construction could begin within several years, with the first residents expected to move in within seven to eight years.
