Solar power supplied a record 14.4% of Great Britain’s electricity last month, driven by unusually sunny weather and rapid growth in rooftop installations. Britain added more than 140,000 solar systems in the first half of the year. Solar also reached 25% of EU electricity in June, including 36% in Germany, 34% in Spain and 24% in Poland. California exceeded 50% in May, while the United States reached 12.8% nationwide. Solar power is reaching record highs across the world — and that’s what’s right with the world.
