After visiting state-run refugee shelters, deputies Dunja Bernard and Marc Baum described conditions as resembling prisons. They criticised hygiene standards and psychological pressure on residents. The deputies noted that facilities were thoroughly cleaned before their visit, raising questions about everyday conditions. Residents reported insufficient food and limited privacy. Bernard called for mandatory refugee quotas for municipalities, arguing the voluntary system is not enough.

From the next academic year, primary schools will introduce seven cross-cutting themes, including financial literacy, emotional and sex education, and media literacy. Education Minister Claude Meisch said the topics will be integrated into existing lessons. A secondary school reform is in preparation.

Statec announced that the next wage indexation is expected in the second quarter of 2026 and again in the third quarter of 2027, as inflation remains above 2.5 percent. The agency forecasts steady economic and job growth, with unemployment around 6 percent.

The non-profit Clae has presented the programme for this year’s Festival des Migrations, des cultures et de la citoyenneté. The event highlights civic participation and cultural diversity. Radio ARA will broadcast live from Luxexpo during the festival.
