Hôpitaux Robert Schuman Kirchberg reported around 30 percent more emergency admissions than usual this week during the heatwave. Many cases involve dehydration or fainting, especially among people doing physical work. CGDIS also reported a 70 percent rise in call-outs on Thursday.

The local section of Déi Lénk in Esch has called for action on vacant housing. The party held a protest outside a state-owned building on Avenue de la Gare, which it says has been empty for ten years.

The Housing Observatory says Luxembourg’s housing market continued to stabilise in the first quarter. Existing home sales kept recovering, while housing prices rose by 1.7 percent over one year. Advertised apartment rents for new contracts rose by 4.4 percent.

The Luxembourg co-production A Long Goodbye has won the Cristal for Best Immersive Work at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The virtual-reality project explores dementia through the story of an elderly pianist.
