About this Episode
Unions and opposition parties warn Luxembourg’s healthcare system could suffer after doctors rejected the new agreement with the National Health Fund CNS. The OGBL fears this could encourage a two-tier system, with patients facing unequal access depending on what they can afford. Hospital doctors say reform should focus on digitalisation, medical training and modern treatment methods, not only tariffs. Meanwhile, Health Minister Martine Deprez expressed surprise that the AMMD has already declared negotiations a failure, as the formal mediation process is still ongoing. She said that government proposals remain on the table and talks can continue and that some of the demanded reforms cannot be settled through the CNS agreement alone.

A court ruled that he had failed to render assistance, but imposed no immediate punishment. The sentence was suspended for three years, citing his clean record, remorse and difficult working conditions.
