Happy Hour – the Silk Road, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar & artist Elise Comrie

Travel along the Silk Road with me tonight on Radio ARA’s Happy Hour! Inspired by Elise Comrie’s exhibition at the CAW in Walferdange, Wendy Winn discovered the music of the Silk Road Ensemble performing with Yo-Yo Ma, and put together a spicy show with the taste of the exotic for you tonight. If you’re dining at home, cous-cous or a good curry might pair perfectly with the playlist.

Wendy also talks about the 18 June talk and meditation at the Parc Hotel with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who will be awarded the Luxembourg Peace Prize on Friday, 19 June. Culture and ideas – including Buddhism and Islam – travelled along the Silk Road, which has been called the first World Wide Web – so it’s a great fit to talk about a highly respected wise man from India coming to share knowledge here in the Grand Duchy.

Elise’s show can be seen at the CAW in Walferdange (near the Centre Prince Henri) Thursday and Friday afternoons 3 to 7 p.m. and weekends 2 to 6 p.m., through the 28th.
