For the past five years, a formidable group of female cyclists known as the Bergeronnettes have been pushing the pedal to the metal in a cycling challenge to raise money for charitable associations. Starting out on 17 September, 22 Bergeronnettes will bike nearly 500 km from Somme Bay to Arlon in just four days.
A big part of the funds they are raising this year will go to support the wonderful Luxembourg association, Ambulanz Wonsch, which works to make last dreams come true for terminally ill patients who require specialized transport to see their childhood homes, their favorite lake, the Schueberfouer or other cherished spots one last time.
Tonight, Fatima, one of the beautiful Bergeronnettes and the lovely Karen van Hout-Frederiks from Ambulanz Wonsch will join me to talk about what they do, why they do it, and how you can support them.
You can also find out more about the Ambulanz Wonsch and the Bergeronnettes on their Facebook pages!
