About this Episode
This March, International Women’s Month is being marked all over the world with the United Nations Women Theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”. The UN highlights that in 2026, women have only 64% of the legal rights that men hold worldwide, in fundamental areas including work, money, safety, family, property, mobility, business and retirement. They posit that at this pace, the legal protection gaps will take about Two centuries to close.
The IWD Support Limited has tagged it the year to “Give to Gain” with free materials to help women around the world plan and host events. The campaign also encourages communities, organizations and individuals to invest in women through mentorship, education, funding and leadership opportunities.
In celebration of Women’s Month, our guest on the Nubian Lounge today was Nelitie Zingoua Kouadia, a Lawyer, Mum, Style Content Creator and Business woman. The discussion centred on women empowerment and leadership, with a goal to understand how to close the gaps on legal rights for women in key areas of life listed in the UN survey. She also shared insights on her code for balancing professional responsibility with motherhood and leadership.
