A private aircraft had a minor accident while landing at Luxembourg Airport yesterday afternoon, forcing the runway to close. Luxair flights were delayed, while CGDIS emergency teams intervened at the scene.
Luxembourg is under a red weather alert from today, with temperatures potentially reaching 40°C. The Severe Weather and Flood Assessment Unit issued the warning, and a Joint Operational Command Post has been activated ahead of National Day festivities.
Several municipalities, including Grevenmacher, Dudelange and Junglinster, have cancelled afternoon classes in primary schools. Morning lessons will continue, and daycare services remain open.
