Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate stayed at 2.2 percent in August. Diesel prices rose sharply, while Enovos expects household gas prices to increase next year as higher international purchase costs reach consumers.

Three girls aged 13, 14 and 15 have been placed in Schrassig prison because the Unisec youth detention unit was full. Children’s rights groups have repeatedly criticised placing minors in adult prisons.

Bettembourg authorities have raised concerns after two reported sexual assaults in less than a week. Police have increased their presence while investigations continue.
