A new study by the European trade union says rent in many EU capitals is higher than the minimum wage. In Prague and Lisbon, rent costs are far above minimum salaries. Brussels and Berlin are the most affordable capitals for minimum wage earners. Overall, at a country level, rent compared better to minimum wages than on a city level. Â
U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to hold talks covering Iran, artificial intelligence, nuclear weapons and more. The meeting comes as the US and China try to stabilise relations after months of tensions over trade and global security issues.Â
Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi has been moved to a hospital in Tehran after being released on bail for medical treatment. She suffers from serious heart problems and was previously held in Zanjan prison. Her condition recently worsened, including a heart attack. Mohammadi is in prison after being sentenced for her activism and for criticising authorities at a public event. Authorities have now suspended part of her prison sentence, though bail details remain unclear. Her family says she is now under the care of her own medical team. Mohammadi won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize for campaigning for women’s rights and against the death penalty.
