Complaints to Luxembourg’s data protection authority rose by 40% last year. The National Commission for Data Protection received nearly 850 complaints and handled more than 1,900 files. Half of reported data breaches were caused by human error.
Luxembourg created 1,400 net jobs in the first quarter of this year, according to Statec. Almost 80% were in public administration, education, health and social services. The private sector added only around 300 jobs, raising concerns about future tax and social security revenues.
Thousands of people joined Luxembourg Pride in the capital on Saturday, calling for equality and greater queer visibility. Participants also drew attention to continuing discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ people. The event will now alternate annually between Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette.
