About this Episode
Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel has urged renewed dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the invasion’s fourth anniversary.
Speaking to France 24, Bettel said progress requires communication, while stressing Russia remains the aggressor. He warned Europe is absent from current talks and could later bear the costs. Any peace, he added, must not weaken support for Ukraine.
Environmental groups Mouvement Ecologique and Oekozenter Pfaffenthal called for faster renovation of vacant buildings, saying up to one in ten are empty. They argue refurbishment would cut emissions and ease housing pressure.
The Justice Ministry is also preparing draft legislation for a national witness protection scheme, following renewed calls from the Consultative Commission on Human Rights.
