NGO platform for sustainable agriculture Meng Landwirtschaft is urging Members of the European Parliament to reject a planned EU proposal on new genetic technologies. The call follows approval by the European Council, of a compromise on plants developed with so-called new genomic techniques. The proposal aims to ease existing rules for genetically modified organisms.

Family reunification requests take nearly three years to process, according to the Interior Ministry. The average delay stands at 34 months, exceeding the legal deadline of nine months.

Household wealth has fallen in recent years, according to the Central Bank of Luxembourg. The drop follows a correction in property prices and weaker financial markets after the pandemic. At the same time, rising inflation reduced purchasing power.
