About this Episode
Hello, you are listening to the radio Ara. I am Marina Khomutova and this is a radio show ARA RUSSIA for peace.
At Kalinka School, things are especially busy right now – with theatre shows, picnics, sports events and open days happening almost every week. School director Anna Radishevskaya spoke about all this in our traditional May interview.
This Sunday, 17 May, the school is organising a family picnic in Grundt for children between two and four years old and their parents. And in true Luxembourg style, the organisers are being practical: if it rains, the event will simply move indoors. While the children play and have fun, parents will be able to meet each other, talk to the teachers and get a feel for the school in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
And then comes a very busy June schedule.
On 6 June, Kalinka will hold an open day for its clubs and after-school activities. And even children who don’t study at the school can join in.
Then, on 7 June, Kalinka’s theatre studio will present the premiere of “The Tale of Lost Time” at Centre Culturel Altrimenti. It’s an old story, but it still feels surprisingly relevant today.
And the final event of the season will take place on 11 July. The school will host a large sports festival and final concert, with workshops, performances and a buffet featuring Russian food. It already sounds less like a school event and more like a real summer family festival – one where everyone is welcome, even if they have never been connected to Kalinka before.
The school says they are looking forward to welcoming everyone. And judging by the programme, this will be much more than just the end of the school year – it will be a real community family celebration.
