Rossi Miyake popularly known as Mike Ross aka the Prince of Africa, is a young Togolese artist of Luxembourg Nationality with a precise musical philosophy: the ability to make his audience dance to beautiful melodies with sensible lyrics.

Born in Togo, Mike Ross joined his father in Germany at a young age and moved to Luxembourg 13 years ago. He attended LTC Lycee technique and studied Business Management at the University of Luxembourg. At age 4, he became the protégé of the group EXTAZ, taking part in film shoots, showcases and concerts, including the Hip Hop Award at the Palais de Congres in Lome in fornt of more than 5,000 people. He released his first single at the age of 7 with the group and has since recorded many musical milestones such as:

  • 2009-201: attended “LA BELLE MELODIE” music school followed by a concert at the Palm Beach Hotel.
  • 2011; A feature with STANLUX OBA’MI and VANO CRUZ
  • 2019: Release of his first solo “LUXEMBOURG” which created a big buzz and introduced him to the world.
  • 2019: Various shows for Luxembourg influencers and club houses
  • 2020: Nomination to represent Luxembourg at the 250th anniversary of Beethoven.

Since the release of his national hit “LUXEMBOURG”, he has written a dozen singles to his credit and the can all be found on digital streaming platforms. Mike Ross is endeared to his fans for his love and attachment to his African values. He organizes his own parties with a concept he terms “LUXEMBOURG SAIT S’ENJAILLER LSE”, and he also manages a well know Luxembourg DJ.

On this episode of Afrikulture Mix, we celebrate Mike Ross’s music and delve into the track ‘African Beauty” touching on the drama behind one of South Africa’s contenders for the Miss Universe crown, Nigeria’s Chidinma Adetshina, whose candidature is fueled by controversy surrounding her birth and citizenship in South Africa. We also touch on African Unity as a concept and as two Artists in Luxembourg, we debate on who breaks into the music industry easier, men or women.
