This podcast is a paid partnership with the ACL.
Leasing is becoming a common way to access a car, but the contract requires careful attention. In this Knowledge Bites episode with the Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL), experts explain the basics drivers should check before signing.
Operational leasing works as an all-inclusive rental for a fixed period and a defined mileage. However, drivers should verify what the “all inclusive” package actually covers, including tires and insurance details.
Mileage and contract duration are central elements. Drivers should check the cost of exceeding the kilometre limit and whether unused kilometres are reimbursed.
Leasing contracts also usually require an upfront deposit, often equivalent to three monthly payments. This amount is refunded at the end of the contract but should be considered when planning the budget.
