About this Episode

The first repatriation flights bringing Luxembourgers home from the Middle East have landed at Luxembourg Airport , as the government coordinates evacuations amid the regional conflict. One flight operated by Luxair and another chartered by the government departed from Muscat, carrying about 200 passengers in total. The first plane arrived shortly before 2pm on Thursday. According to Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel, further evacuation flights may follow, possibly involving military aircraft and cooperation with Belgium, as authorities continue efforts to bring stranded citizens home.

The Philharmonie is set to expand with a new multi-purpose hall as rising visitor numbers push the venue close to its limits. Opened in 2005, the concert hall welcomed more than 220,000 visitors and hosted over 600 events in 2025, with many performances selling out quickly. The extension will create space for educational programmes, workshops and professional events, while improving backstage and staff facilities. The project, led by Administration des bâtiments publics, is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Authorities have confirmed that a lone Grey wolf was responsible for the attack on five sheep in a meadow near Wincrange at the end of February, after genetic tests on samples taken from the animals. Two sheep were injured in the incident. According to the Administration de la nature et des forêts, it is unclear whether the wolf has since left the area or remains in the country. While Luxembourg has no resident wolf pack, lone wolves have occasionally been spotted since 2017, with nearby populations present in the Belgian Ardennes and the German Eifel.
