Two great interviews got broadcasted on the December 12th edition of Cosmic Trigger, hosted by Obi and Lex.

NICOOL & LUCA SALES – “LIEWEN”

With Liewen, Nicool and Luca Sales present a collaborative project that goes far beyond the boundaries of a conventional hip-hop album. Released in September 2025, the nine-track record unfolds as an intimate and reflective exploration of life, identity and emotional growth.

Known for her strong presence in Luxembourg’s rap scene, Nicool reveals a more nuanced and vulnerable artistic side on Liewen. Classic beats and sharp punchlines give way to a refined, introspective soundscape shaped by Luca Sales’ jazz-influenced piano compositions. Rap, spoken word, chamber music elements and subtle vocal textures merge into a coherent and emotionally rich whole.

The album addresses themes of self-determination, relationships, vulnerability and the role of art itself. Songs move from direct expressions of autonomy to quiet, contemplative moments, creating a continuous narrative that feels both personal and universal.

A distinctive feature of Liewen is the accompanying book, which includes lyrics, English translations, illustrations by Henri Schoetter and blank pages inviting readers to engage creatively with the project. By combining music, literature and visual art, Liewen emerges as a multidimensional work and one of the most ambitious collaborative releases in recent Luxembourgish music.

 PTOLEMEA – “KALI”

With Kali, Luxembourgish dark-rock/alternative band Ptolemea present their most uncompromising and powerful work to date. Led by the unmistakable voice of Priscila da Costa, the album transcends genre boundaries, blending dark rock, metal, ambient and ritualistic elements into a deeply immersive sound.

Inspired by themes of destruction, transformation and rebirth, Kali unfolds as a cinematic journey between shadow and light. Heavy hypnotic riffs, atmospheric layers and intense vocals create a sound that feels both raw and spiritual, intimate and explosive.

Named after the Hindu goddess of chaos and renewal, the album explores inner demons, the courage to let go, and the strength that emerges from vulnerability. More than just a new release, Kali marks a major milestone for Ptolemea and a bold statement within Luxembourg’s alternative scene – a manifesto of artistic freedom and sonic transformation.
