The October edition of Cosmic Trigger was packed with content. It began with an extended live interview featuring the two musicians from The Kools.

The Kools are a rock duo based in Luxembourg, combining dark-atmospheric tones with gritty guitar-driven songwriting. Their sound has been described as emerging from a “humid, gothic underworld” — offering a moody, immersive listening experience rather than straightforward pop.

They made their debut with the album Dead Serious in 2021 and followed it up with The Process in 2024, which contains tracks such as “When I Was in Your Arms”, “Calm” and “Black Dream”. The band’s aesthetic leans into introspective lyrics and strong atmosphere, making them a noteworthy name for fans of alternative rock with a brooding edge.

After that, there was an interview with The Très Biens, which had been recorded in advance.

Formed in Fürth (Bavaria), The Très Biens describe themselves as the city’s first and only “Pubrock-Band”. Their sound blends high-energy rock’n’roll with a raw, live-bar aesthetic — think gritty guitars, driving rhythms and an unpretentious, fun-forward attitude.

On stage the band deliver straightforward rock hooks, sing-along choruses and a sense of immediacy that suits pub venues and smaller clubs particularly well. Their live presence is documented in videos such as their performance of “Peace Love” in February 2024 in Fürth’s Kunstkeller.

In short: The Très Biens bring back the feel of rock music that doesn’t over-polish itself — they keep things direct, loud and in the moment. If you enjoy bands that sound like they could light up your favourite local pub’s stage rather than a huge arena, they are worth checking out.
